Southwest Eagles Youth Hockey Association

At the March 24 SWE Board of Directors Meeting, the Board confirmed that Southwest will restructure its Mite program based on the USA Hockey ADM Model (8U Red, White, and Blue Hockey).  Because of the region and state wide nature and support of the restructure and that the restructure of an age division does not require a change in the SWE bylaws or a general membership vote, it was decided that this part of the process be conducted as a SWE Board level decision.

 

The vote to confirm association support of the USA Hockey ADM Mite program structure is a small part of the process.  Completing the vote at this time allows the association to move forward sooner with developing the implementation plan. The Board has requested that the Coaches Committee lead the development and implementation of this process over the next several months.  As explained during the 1st Mite ADM Informational meeting, feedback from the 8U membership families will also be key to a successful transition and program.

 

We will continue to make every effort to keep our members informed of the process.  A "Red, White, and Blue" webpage will be set up on the Southwest website shortly, and will provide us with a tool to communicate information on the program.  A second parent information session will be scheduled for the week of April 5.  An announcement with meeting date and time will be sent shortly.
