Mandatory Family Commitment and additional skater credits

Each Southwest family (except initiation-only families) is required to have one family member (over 18) to volunteer an estimate of 14 hours PER SKATER (Mite A Level and above) and 4 hours PER SKATER (LTP through Mite) of either weekday, weekend or high-school (HS) game concession stand duty at the Eagles Nest. This consists of seven or two 2 hour shifts during the season depending upon the level of your skater. The hours requirement must be completed prior to March 14, 2010 or fees will be assessed. Additional concession stand times may be available to parents as a way to earn skater credits ($7.00 per hour) ... however, these times cannot be used to fulfill your Southwest mandatory committment. The Club is also offering a buyout if you do not want to participate in the concession program ... the buyout will be $250.

The following exemptions are granted for various posistions within the club:

Responsibilities and Training

Each family is responsible for the mandatory time commitment at the Eagles Nest concession stand. Typical time shifts will be two (2) hours in length ... however, you may choose to signup for consecutive shifts. Family volunteer must be at least 18 years old. Some end of day shifts (M-F, S) will require 1/2 hour of cleaning after the concession stand has closed to complete the 2 hour shift.

It is important for volunteers to show up on time (unless other arrangements have been made with approval of the Concessions Schedule Coordinator. No shows will not be tolerated and there will be significant penallties associated with missing a shift. An Emergency Replacement Call List is available to help find last minute substitutions. However, it is the complete responsibility of the volunteer family to find/call substitutes when needed.

If you have never worked in the concession stand before, please let the scheduling coordinator know in advance so we can make sure someone is there to assist you. In addition, posted procedures (e.g., startup, cleaning, ...) will be placed within the concession stand and will also be available for download on the right hand side of this page (by shift time slot).

Website Account Registration

This year as we switch over to our new website, we will be using a new volunteer system called "Dibs".  You can find the link to the Dibs system at the top horizontal navigation bar and to the right.  This will be the system we will utilize to list available volunteer hours.  You will use the Dibs system to claim and be credited for your volunteer hours.

Any parent/player required to work volunteer hours will need to register an account through the SWE website using the link at the top left area of the page.  If you registered your player online you will already have an account.  Once you have an account you will be able to access the Dibs system and begin signing up for concession hours once they are listed.

Online Concession Signup

Use the Online Concessions Program to signup for your dates and times. This program allows you to select your concession time slots (2 hours per time slot) and review your schedule. The software does not allow you to delete or cancel a previous time slot that you have signed up for. No Show Policy

No shows will not be tolerated and there are significant penalties associated with missing a time shift. A penalty of $125 will be assessed to the family for missing a two (2) hour time shift. An Emergency Call list (right side of page) is available to help find last minute substitutions. However, it is the complete responsibility of the volunteer family to find/call substitutes when needed.
